West Felton Stores - Coronavirus Delivery Service

Home » West Felton Stores - Coronavirus Delivery Service

The following has been issued by the village shop:

"Delivery service

Vulnerable and self isolating daily grocery delivery - this service is for people within the parish of west felton -  sy11

Call west felton stores on 01691 610 863

Order window between 9am – 2.30pm seven days a week

Please do not call outside of these times. Please note this line will be busy and will require patience. It will take us a couple of weeks to get up to speed. We do not know how busy this could become but we will try to improve the service as we grow into it.

Please have card payment details ready – we shall take payment over the phone – we will not be handling cash. Deliveries will be left on your doorstep. If you have an elderly relative that only handles cash – you will need to call on their behalf.

We will try our best to fulfill your order requirements however due to shortages of many staple products, it may take a few weeks for supplies to return to normal. If we can source your required products – there are obvious restrictions on the amounts you can buy because of the recent selfishness of panic buying.

We are not using this service or the current climate to boost business profit – we are doing to it to help those in need - we have a duty of care as a community business. Changes we have made in store will have a negative effect on our sales but we have made changes to protect our staff and customers.

If you have the means to ask a friend or relative to collect your groceries – please take this option before phoning for delivery.

There is a minimum order spend of £10, and a 5% fee on the value of your order to cover the card transaction fee we receive by taking payment over the phone and to give the volunteer driver reimbursement for their fuel costs. Cigarettes, stamps and lottery tickets can be purchased within orders – but not solely on their own.

This service is only possible with the help of volunteers – this allows the shop to remain open as a one customer only kiosk service. Their will be a tip jar in the shop to encourage customers to recognise these people’s efforts.

Please share with relevant local people and support your local businesses!"
